Training

Training 

Training is one of the important tasks we have here. Training consists of anything from classroom activities to a full "class-A" burn. Here are some photos from trainings we have had.

Jellison Cove Burn

We had a house given to us to burn on the Jellison Cove Rd. We got much needed training from search and rescue, to water supply and hoses.

Holmatro® Rescue Tool Training

The department conducts hands-on training with our "Jaws" tool. Here are a few photos from that day's events.

East Side Rd Burn

Another resident donated his structure to us for training purposes. we held an extensive evening burn with SCBA  and live fire exercises

Pump Training in Franklin

Some of our crew did a pumps class in Franklin ME. The course covered all types of pumps and how to move water.

Training at the Tannery!

The old Tannery is used by the department to train with pumps, rural hitches and hose lays. here are a few photos from a training session in 2004.

Ladder Training in Sorrento

Sorrento conducted Ladder Operations for use of the Ladder Truck Stationed there. Here are some of the photos from that evolution.

A "Class A" burn took place in Winter Harbor. Chief Webber invited surrounding towns to take part in some "real fire" training.

 Replace your smoke detector batteries regularly.

Fall Clean-up is approaching. All open burning requires a burn permit. Call Charlie Wheeler at 422-6860 or Bing Lounder at422-6821 to obtain a permit 

Remember the Town office or the Fire Chief cannot issue Burn Permits.

 

 

Meeting Schedule
 The next monthly EMS meeting is Sept 8, 2008 at Station 2 1830 hrs.

The next Fire meeting is  Sept 8, 2008 at Station 2 1900 hrs.
